  30. About Rummage

  32. Rummage is a utility which will let you eliminate those unwanted
  33. duplicate files that seem to pester the PC user.  Rummage can also
  34. be used as a file search utility.

  36. In writing Rummage I set out to created the fastest search algorithms
  37. possible.  I think you'll find this to be the fastest de duplicator on the
  38. market.  I hope you find this product useful in cleaning up your hard
  39. disk.

  41. If you use this software you are required to register it.  This is the first
  42. time that I am trying the trust method.  There is no protection of any
  43. type.  That means you could use this product without any nagging 
  44. messages or limitations.  Please help make the Shareware concept work.

  48. Find Duplicates Button
  49. ______________________________________________________________
  50. This button initiates a search of the selected drive for duplicate file names 
  51. that match the search string.  To limit the search modify the search string.
  52. There are two radio buttons for this option.  Duplicates by name will search
  53. for duplicates by file name and extension.  Duplicates by name/size will only
  54. retrieve file names that have equal byte sizes.

  56. CRC Check Button

  58. It is possible to have duplicate file names with duplicate byte counts that
  59. are not truly duplicates.  The CRC check is a way of ensuring that two
  60. files are the same.

  62. Pressing the CRC Check Button will calculate a CRC number for the two files in 
  63. the boxes above the button.  If the two CRC number match you will receive a
  64. message that the files match.   To enter the two file names into the boxes you
  65. can either type the full file names with their paths or drag a file from the files 
  66. list by holding the left mouse button.

  71. Search For Files Button

  73. Search for files allows you to scan a single drive for all files that fit the current
  74. search string.  This is just an added feature to help you clean up you drive.

  76. The Toxic Trash Can

  78. The toxic trash can provides you with a way to delete all selected files.  Highlight
  79. file to be deleted and just drag them to the trash.  You will be prompted before
  80. any deletions are made.
